Climate Change: Understanding & Engagement: Reserve a Kit

We offer a wide variety of curriculum resource kits to lend to schools in Vermont and New Hampshire. These kits include all the equipment you need to support your energy and climate curriculum. If you are interested in reserving a kit, fill out the form below and we will be in touch to schedule a meeting. Kits are loaned out on a first come, first serve basis, so reserve early to guarantee your dates. Allow two weeks after request for processing.

  • Fee: We ask schools to pay a small fee for the use of our kits to help us to maintain and restock the kits. We offer scholarships if your school does not have a budget for materials.

Transportation options: Kits can be delivered via Vital Delivery Solutions for an additional fee ranging from $40-$80 each way depending on number of kits (i.e. size and weight) as per VDS rates. We can send you the actual cost of shipping once your kit(s) have been reserved. Kits can also be picked up/dropped off at our office in Montpelier for no cost. The list of Vital Delivery Solutions service locations in Vermont can be found here and New Hampshire service locations here. If your location is not in the service area, we will find alternative shipping options.

Late fee policy: A VEEP/NHEEP staff member will be in contact with the teacher one week prior to the scheduled date of kit return (based on Kit Reservation request submitted by the teacher). If VEEP/NHEEP does not receive a response from the teacher, we will send a 2nd email the following week, which would be the scheduled week of kit return. If VEEP/NHEEP does not receive a response within those two weeks, a late fee of $50 will be applied. VEEP/NHEEP will send the invoice for the late fee to the teacher and the school administration. If no communication is received from the teacher or school administration, additional late fees of $25 will continue to accrue each month until we receive the kit. Late fee invoices will be sent monthly. If no communication is received from the teacher or school administration after 3 months from the scheduled kit return date, the full kit price will be charged by the 3rd month and an invoice with the full kit amount will be sent to the school administration and the teacher. *If kit availability allows, kit reservations can be extended by contacting us.*

Customized kits: We are happy to modify our traditional kits to meet your curriculum or project needs, but we ask schools to pay an additional $30 surcharge to help us cover the extra time and materials. Please note that we might need some extra time to create the custom kit in addition to the two weeks.

Lost and damaged items: All kits come with a detailed itemized list of included materials. Please let us know immediately if any items are missing. You are expected to do an inventory of the kit you’ve borrowed before returning it to VEEP. We will bill for lost and damaged items. The cost of replacing consumable materials (items meant to be used up, like modeling clay and index cards) is included in the kit fee.

Please read our equipment sanitation protocols in response to COVID. It is our priority to keep you safe, but also to not destroy our electronic equipment through improper cleaning.
