BELOW is a list of the most recent accomplishments reported by the Action Team
January 2012
- The Green Team has reviewed the teacher responses from a survey sent to all Twinfield teachers to qualitatively assess classroom electricity use. A letter of response from the students is in the works.
- The 'Energy Sleuthing' activity was postponed to Feb. 20th due to bad weather.
- Working with Michael Fox & Ethan Goldman from VEIC to repair E-gauge.
- Students will attend 'Building Better by Design' conference Feb. 8 & 9
- 12 students from AP environmental class & Green Team were trained in home energy assessment by Paul Markowitz from VEIC.
- The Green Team has been collaborating with the facilities committee on an energy conservation list for ideas of energy saving policies to be adopted by Twinfield. When this is complete it will be given to the school board.
Fall 2011
- Action Team is meeting weekly
- Do One Think public service announcement
- Energy Table outside cafeteria 2 days/week for students to report One Thing they did
- "Turn Me Off" light switch stickers
- Lights Out experiment: Turned lights off for 2 minutes and looked at meters to see how it impacted electric use.
- Created Teacher survey for classroom electric use (e.g. computers and other devices turned off?)
- Obtained grant from Marshfield Energy Committee to do Button-Up type audit of houses
- Working on household energy survey for students to take home
