VEEP ProgramsIn-Class Presentations
VEEP In-class Presentations make it easy to bring hands on, minds on energy directly into your classroom. One of our experienced energy educators will arrive with interactive activities and an engaging format that typically lasts for 90 minutes. VEEP offers three different in-class presentations: Electricity and the Environment (E&E), Renewables are Ready (RAR), and an intro to Wind Works. Thanks to the generous support of our funders, some In-class Presentations are available at no cost to schools.

ELECTRICITY AND THE ENVIRONMENT:
VEEP's signature in-class presentation. In E&E students learn about the discovery of electricity and how it powers our world, from Faraday's Coil to our modern energy economy. Students take turns generating it on their own with different hand-powered and foot-powered activities, including taking a spin on our energy bike. LEARN MORE >
RENEWABLES ARE READY:
Fossil fuels are so last century! In RAR students go more in-depth on the different ways that electricity can be generated, with a focus on renewable sources. Various stations allow students to explore the science behind each renewable technology, and understand the pros and cons of each. LEARN MORE >
WIND WORKS INTRO:
Hold on to your notebooks! Large fans and demonstration wind turbines unite to create electricity and present the power potential of wind. Students take measurements of wind speed with hand-held anemometers, and measure the voltage output on specially-design wind turbines. Students take measurements of the results and then graph their data to explore the relationship between wind speed and power, and evaluate wind power as an energy alternative here in Vermont.
